作業部屋の窓から、正面に栴檀（センダン）の木が見えます。
秋が深まる季節、落葉した枝に、黄褐色の丸い実がなります。
その姿に魅せられて、この絵を描きはじめました。
描くためにセンダンをずっと眺めていると、いつも圧倒的な「気」（のようなもの）を感じました。
さらに、センダンの周囲の木々や、遠くの山々の木々が発する「気」も届いてきます。
私はそれら木々の「気」をどうにか受け止めて、それらをかたちや色にとどめようとしました。
だからこの絵は、眼に見える木々そのままとは少し違う表現になっているかもしれません。
日頃から、植物には私たち人間とは別次元の、高くてひろくて深い知性があり、意思があるんだろうな、… と思っています。
そう思うことによって、自分の気持ちももっと遠くまで広がるような気がしています。
From my workroom window I can see the chinaberry tree in front of me.
In deep autumn, yellowish-brown round fruits grow on the bare branches after the leaves have fallen.
I was fascinated by their appearance and started painting this picture.
When I kept looking at the chinaberry to paint it, I always felt an overwhelming aura.
In addition, I also received aura from the trees surrounding the chinaberry and from the trees in the mountains in the distance.
I somehow managed to catch the aura of these trees and tried to capture them in form and colour.
That is why this picture may be expressed a little differently from the trees we can see.
I can't help but think that plants have a higher, wider and deeper intelligence and will, which is on a different level from that of us humans...
That thought brings me great relief.
具象と抽象のはざまで、「記憶のどこかにあるような未知の風景」を描きます。
また、「猫のいる情景」は大切にしているテーマの一つ。アクリル ・油彩・版画など、多様なメディアで制作しています。
